What is a Cable Campaign?

GBN visitors often tell us they would love to have GBN viewable through their local cable company.  They ask what they can personally do to assist with getting GBN in their area.  Of course, it is by no means an easy task, but if enough people contact their local cable company with this request, this will undoubtedly create a strong impact.  Just imagine the success we would see if every congregation were to launch their own Cable Campaign and persistently contact their cable company....

If you or your congregation may be interested in starting your own Cable Campaign, here are the steps you might take:

Research Information:

  • Locate your local Cable Company name, mailing address, contact person, phone number and possibly their email address.

  • If members of your congregation use different cable provider, write to one at a time.  Have all members write to each cable provider...remember, it's all about the numbers.

Things You Will Need:

  • Somebody in the congregation take the responsible to head up your cable campaign.

  • Pre-paid post cards can be purchased from the post office.

  • Announcement to remain seated for a moment following services in order to have the young men pass out post cards.

  • Instruct everyone, even if they do not have cable, to write a short note asking the local cable companies to put the “Gospel Broadcasting Network” on their system. Your membership's response will be much stronger if this is done Sunday morning.

  • Cable Campaign Procedures

  • Letter To Cable Company

  • Sample Note

  • Satellite Coordinates

  • Include GBN's contact information on the cards.  Please also include:

Contact: Stuart Hoover

Toll-free 1-866-525-4677 ext. 109

or e-mail cableinfo@GBNTV.ORG

Show them you feel this is of the utmost importance by using your church letterhead to have everyone sign a petition to take to the local cable company.
