Launch a Cable Campaign
What is a Cable Campaign?
PROCEDURE
A cable executive has recommended this procedure for encouraging your local cable
company to carry GBN. This process already has proven successful: after just a
brief letter-writing campaign, Dalton Utilities/Optilink agreed to include GBN in its
slate of networks.
Locate the contact information for your local cable company, i.e.; contact name,
address, and if possible a phone number and email.
- After worship service Sunday morning, ask everyone to remain seated while
postage paid postcards and/or envelopes with paper are distributed to the members of
the audience. Each person is asked to write a short personal note requesting that the
Gospel Broadcasting Network, based in Ringgold GA., be
carried by the person’s local servicing cable provider. If one is not a current
customer, it’s fine to state our local cable system because it is theirs whether they
subscribe or not. If you live in the viewing area you are a potential subscriber.
- Men assigned the task then take up the postcards and notes for mailing. The
requests are not mailed all at once—perhaps, 25% of the total number each week for
four weeks.
- The congregation repeats the above procedure monthly until the cable company
responds favorably—that is, with a request of GBN for coordinates to receive the
satellite signal for broadcast.
